H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF DEACON SARKIS Y. YEPREMIAN

     WHEREAS, Deacon Sarkis Y. Yepremian of Cranston, passed away on January 27. He

2

was a servant of the Lord and the beloved husband of Ardemis "Arda" (Abrahamian) Yepremian

3

for fifty-four years; and

4

     WHEREAS, Mr. Yepremian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, the son of the late Yeprem and

5

Victoria Yepremian. He was a hard-working man who co-owned, with his wife, Yepremian

6

Jewelers in Cranston for the past forty years. Mr. Yepremian was a respected businessman and a

7

welcome fixture within the community; and

8

     WHEREAS, Mr. Yepremian also served the Armenian Christian community as a Deacon

9

at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Providence. Mr. Yepremian was a faithful

10

servant of the Lord who was devoted to his family and the community; and

11

     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Ardemis, Mr. Yepremian leaves behind his children,

12

Victoria Yepremian Bailey, and Sebouh Yepremian and his wife, Annie, and his grandchildren

13

Alyssa, Christopher, Ari, and Garen. He also leaves behind his brother, Yevkine de Greef, and his

14

uncle, Guillaume de Greef. He was the brother of the late Garabed Yepremian; and

15

     WHEREAS, Mr. Yepremian’s passing is a deep loss for his family, many friends, and the

16

members of his community. However, his abiding love for his family, his tireless work ethic, and

17

his service to the community will be long remembered by all who knew and loved him; now,

18

therefore be it

19

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

20

Providence Plantations hereby expresses its deepest condolences to the Yepremian Family on the

passing Deacon Sarkis Y. Yepremian; and be it further

2

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

3

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ardemis Yepremian and Family.
