It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 30 of the General Laws entitled "MILITARY AFFAIRS AND |
2 | DEFENSE" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 30.4 |
4 | ACTIVE MEMBERS IN RESERVES – EDUCATION BENEFITS |
5 | 30-30.4-1. Educational benefits. |
6 | Any person who is an active member in good standing in a reserve component of the |
7 | armed forces of the United States and who is eligible to attend any state college or university in |
8 | Rhode Island, will be eligible for a tuition assistance educational benefit amounting to five (5) |
9 | courses per semester at any Rhode Island state college or university. Basic tuition or general fee |
10 | charges to be waived for said five (5) courses. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
