CONGRATULATING TRACIE BOURGET ON RECEIVING A 2019 GOLDEN APPLE

AWARD

     WHEREAS, Tracie Bourget, a second-grade teacher at Agnes Little Elementary School

in Pawtucket, has inspired her students to envision their possibilities, give back to their

community, and have confidence in themselves and their abilities, resulting in an overall positive

atmosphere for learning and a solid foundation for future success; and

     WHEREAS, For her outstanding efforts and dedication to her students and excellence in

education, Ms. Bourget has been honored with a 2019 Golden Apple Award; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Bourget was nominated by a family on behalf of their son, and was

commended for her remarkable patience with her students, and her consideration and facility for

communicating with parents in order to let them know how their children are doing in the

classroom; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Bourget attended Pawtucket schools as a youngster and currently has

been teaching for 23 years. In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, she inspires her

students to give back to the community, recently organizing them to make donations of non-

perishable food items to the food bank, from a Big Dreams Concert event; and

     WHEREAS, With a genuine love for teaching, Ms. Bourget has not only helped hundreds

of children to succeed, but has also earned the praise and admiration of her peers, and her

dedication and expertise have been tremendous assets to the entire school community; now,

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby congratulates and applauds Tracie Bourget on receiving a 2019

Golden Apple Award. We furthermore wish her good health, fulfillment, and success in all her

future endeavors; and be it further 

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Tracie Bourget.
