1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Orlando |
2 | A. Andreoni, Esq., the devoted husband of Linda Andreoni for twenty very happy years, loving |
3 | father of Michael Andreoni, Julie Andreoni, Jeffrey Andreoni, and Brenden Gauch, and the very |
4 | proud grandfather of Siobhan, Orlando, Stacy, and Tyson; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Born in Providence, "Andy" as he was fondly known by all, was the son of |
6 | the late Orlando and Marie Andreoni, and the brother of Rodney Andreoni. He was a graduate of |
7 | LaSalle Academy and earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island; and |
8 | WHEREAS, In 1968, Mr. Andreoni received his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University |
9 | Law School and shortly thereafter, was admitted to the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar |
10 | Associations, and in 1979, was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; and |
11 | WHEREAS, A longtime resident of the City of East Providence, Mr. Andreoni had |
12 | maintained a diverse legal practice in the City since 1984, and had served as the East Providence |
13 | City Solicitor for ten years; and |
14 | WHEREAS, In February of 2009 until his passing, Mr. Andreoni served the people of |
15 | Rhode Island and the House of Representatives as Legal Counsel to the Judiciary Committee and |
16 | the House Committee on Health, Education, and Welfare, where he was quite well-known and |
17 | widely-admired; and |
18 | WHEREAS, Andy Andreoni was a unique man who was loved and respected, and he will |
19 | be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who had the good fortune to be part of his |

2 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
3 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Orlando A. |
4 | Andreoni, Esq.; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Linda Andreoni and Family. |
