It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 24-10-18 of the General Laws in Chapter 24-10 entitled "Freeways" |
2 | is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 24-10-18. Backing up prohibited. |
4 | Any person who backs up a motor vehicle on a roadway or shoulder of any freeway within |
5 | the state, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Violations of this section are subject to fines enumerated |
6 | in § 31-41.1-4. This section shall not apply to the operation of construction vehicles performing |
7 | authorized public works as defined in § 37-13-1. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
