	RELATING TO FISH AND WILDLIFE - HUNTING AND HUNTING SAFETY

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Section 20-13-7 of the General Laws in Chapter 20-13 entitled "Hunting and
2	Hunting Safety" is hereby amended to read as follows:
3	20-13-7. Shooting in proximity to occupied buildings.
4	(a) It is unlawful for any person, while hunting or pursuing wild birds or wild animals in
5	this state, to shoot or discharge any firearm or other deadly weapon within five hundred feet (500')
6	of any occupied dwelling house, residence, or other building occupied by human beings, or any
7	barn, stable, or other building used in connection therewith, without the specific permission of the
8	owner or tenant.
9	(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, it is unlawful for any
10	person, while hunting or pursuing wild birds or wild animals in or on the area in Warwick known
11	as Chepiwanoxet Point, to shoot or discharge any firearm or other deadly weapon from the shore
12	within four thousand feet (4,000') of any occupied dwelling house, residence, or other building
13	occupied by human beings, or any barn, stable, or other building used in connection therewith,
14	without the specific permission of the owner or tenant. For purposes of this section, Chepiwanoxet
15	shall include, but not be limited to, a neighborhood area in Warwick, with an island peninsula in
16	Greenwich Bay. The Chepiwanoxet neighborhood straddles the Amtrak railroad lines, which lies
17	just east of and parallel to Post Road (U.S. Route 1). Its boundaries are Neptune Street to the north,
18	Alger Avenue to the south, Post Road to the west, and Greenwich Bay to the east.

1	This act would prohibit hunting within four thousand feet (4,000') of any occupied dwelling
2	house, residence, or other occupied building within the neighborhood in Warwick known as
3	Chepiwanoxet Point.
