It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 6-13.1 of the General Laws entitled "Deceptive Trade Practices" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 6-13.1-31. Discrimination prohibited. |
4 | It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership, corporation or association to |
5 | discriminate or fail or refuse to engage in business or sell a product or service to include, but not |
6 | be limited to, consumer, banking, insurance and/or professional services, goods or products, to any |
7 | person based on political affiliation, political position, status as an entertainer, or because the person |
8 | engages in any other lawful employment position or occupation. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
