EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JULIE LYNN CARDINAL | |

1 | WHEREAS, Julie Lynn Cardinal, a devoted mother, daughter, fiancée and sister, passed |
2 | away on December 19, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Westerly and the daughter of Michael |
3 | and Holly Cardinal; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Ms. Cardinal was a hard-working woman who was employed as an office |
5 | manager at Babcock Village. She was also a member of the Westerly Lodge of Elks BPOE 678, a |
6 | former member of the Chariho Rotary Club, and a former employee and volunteer for the |
7 | Misquamicut Business Association. She was also an incredible singer who loved music; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Ms. Cardinal loved spending time at the beach in her community of |
9 | Westerly. She also took part in many activities at the Westerly Yacht Club and had played an |
10 | instrumental role in getting the Club to allow women members. Ms. Cardinal was an Athena |
11 | Award nominee in 2016, and was voted one of the sixteen toughest women in Rhode Island; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Ms. Cardinal leaves behind her children, Hannah Bettencourt, Morgan |
13 | Bettencourt, Noah Bettencourt and Samuel Scavello. She is also survived by her fiancé Charlie |
14 | Ramsey, sister Tracy Cardinal, numerous aunts and uncles, and several nieces and nephews; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Ms. Cardinal will be sorely missed by her family and many friends, but the |
16 | love she gave and her amazing spirit will live on forever in all who knew and loved her; now, |
17 | therefore be it |
18 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
19 | hereby expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Ms. Julie Lynn Cardinal; and be it |
