EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF CLAIRE A. BIRKMAIER | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Claire |
2 | A. Birkmaier, the beloved wife of forty-three years to George Birkmaier, and a longtime resident |
3 | of the Town of North Scituate; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Birkmaier was born in the City of Providence, and was the devoted |
5 | daughter of the late Frank, Jr., and Eugenia DiPaolo, and the sister of Evelyn Doherty, and the |
6 | late Richard DiPaolo and Thomas DiPaolo. She was also the aunt to many nieces and nephews; |
7 | and |
8 | WHEREAS, A renowned beauty, Mrs. Birkmaier had been a former Miss Rhode Island. |
9 | For thirty-two years, she had been employed as an administrative aid for Senator Claiborne Pell, |
10 | and as a secretary for Senator Paul Fogarty for fifteen years; and |
11 | WHEREAS, In addition to her family and work, Mrs. Birkmaier had enjoyed and had an |
12 | overwhelming love for horses, dogs and cats, and spending quality time on her boat; |
13 | and |
14 | WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Claire Birkmaier, a gracious and lovely woman, left |
15 | an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved, and she will be dearly missed; now, |
16 | therefore be it |
17 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
18 | hereby expresses its deepest sympathies on the passing of Claire A. Birkmaier; and be it further |

1 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to George Birkmaier. |
