RELATING TO AMENDING THE CHARTER OF NORTH PROVIDENCE | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Article 3 Chapter 1 of Chapter 237 of the 1973 Public Laws entitled "An |
2 | Act to Incorporate the Town of North Providence, as amended", is hereby further amended to |
3 | read as follows: |

8 | 3-1-3. Compensation |
9 | Beginning with the fiscal year commencing on July 1, 2005, a salary of seventy-five |
10 | thousand dollars ($75,000) per year shall be paid to the mayor For fiscal year 2020, a salary at the |
11 | rate of eighty-five thousand dollars ($85,000) per year, effective January 1, 2020, shall be paid to |
12 | the Mayor. For fiscal year 2021, a salary at the rate of ninety-five thousand dollars ($95,000) per |
13 | year, shall be paid to the Mayor. Beginning with fiscal year 2022 and each fiscal year thereafter, a |
14 | salary of ($105,000.00) per year shall be paid to the Mayor. As part of the mayor's compensation |
15 | package, the mayor shall contribute five percent (5%) of the working rate of health care as a co- |
16 | payment for the healthcare. The mayor shall be compensated for all reasonable and necessary |
17 | expenses incurred in the performance of his duties provided that, within ten (10) days after he |
18 | incurs such expenses he submits to the town treasurer vouchers certifying the amount of the |

1 | This act would increase the North Providence Mayor's yearly compensation from |
2 | seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to eighty-five thousand dollars ($85,000), for the 2020 |
3 | fiscal year, to ninety-five thousand dollars ($95,000) for the 2021 fiscal year, to one hundred five |
4 | thousand dollars ($105,000.00) for the 2022 fiscal years, and each year thereafter. |
