EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE HONORABLE | |

1 | WHEREAS, Thomas L. “Tom” Ucci passed away on November 11, 2019, surrounded by |
2 | his beloved family. He was the devoted husband of Constance “Connie” Ucci for more than sixty- |
3 | three years; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Mr. Ucci was born in Providence, a son of Luigi and Frances Ucci. He was |
5 | a lifelong resident of Johnston and graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1953; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Mr. Ucci was a hard-working and devoted family man his entire life. He |
7 | was a driver for the former Almacs Grocery Store, a Shop Steward for Teamsters Local 251, and |
8 | served as the Director of Buildings and Grounds for the Town of Johnston; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Mr. Ucci was also a dedicated public servant. He served with honor, |
10 | integrity and distinction as a member of the Johnston Town Council, including serving as the |
11 | Town Council President. He also served as the Town Sergeant and was a lifetime member of |
12 | Johnston Hose Company Number 3; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Mr. Ucci was a lifetime communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in |
14 | Johnston and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Dillon Council. More than anything, |
15 | Mr. Ucci enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; |
16 | and |
17 | WHEREAS, In addition to his wife Constance, Mr. Ucci is survived by his children, |
18 | Thomas Ucci, Jr., Assistant Chief, Johnston Fire Department, and his wife Patricia, Pamela |
19 | DelPonte and her husband, Peter, the Honorable Susan Mansolillo, Johnston School Committee, |

1 | and her husband, Louis, and the Honorable Stephen Ucci and his wife, Dina. He also leaves |
2 | behind his grandchildren, David Laferiere, Sherry Farrell and her husband, Zack, Christine |
3 | Paulson and her husband, Eric, Amanda Merluzzo and her husband, Michael, Alisa Cimini and |
4 | her husband, Matt, Jeni Mansolillo, and Gianna Ucci, and leaves seven great-grandchildren; now, |
5 | therefore be it |
6 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
7 | hereby expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of the Honorable Thomas L. Ucci; and |
8 | be it further |
9 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
10 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Constance Ucci and Family. |
