EXTENDING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF PAULA MARIE | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Paula |
2 | Marie Morrone, beloved wife of A. Vero Morrone for fifty-three years, and the devoted mother of |
3 | Aaron and his wife, Nancy, Kevin and his wife, Michelle, Susan and her husband, Edward, Bryan |
4 | and his wife, Antonietta, Steven, and Britton and his wife, Tami; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Morrone was the daughter of the late Gerald and Winifred Foberg, the |
6 | sister of James, Pamela, Susan, Donald, and the late Linda Schackner, the daughter-in-law of the |
7 | late Vero and Helen Morrone, and the mother-in-law of Brenda, James, Bud, and Gloria; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Having grown up in Stonington, Connecticut, Mrs. Morrone was a graduate |
9 | of Stonington High School, where she had been the recipient of the Daughters of the American |
10 | Revolution Award, and very active as captain of the cheerleading squad, basketball team, |
11 | badminton team, and twirling team. During her senior year in high school, she had met Vero, |
12 | who became the love of her life; and |
13 | WHEREAS, A long-time and well-respected member of the Town of Westerly, Mrs. |
14 | Morrone was a volunteer for Red Cross, a member of the Westerly Yacht Club and Calabrese |
15 | Society, and enjoyed Bridge and Pitch leagues. She was dedicated to her faith and the Blessed |
16 | Virgin Mary. She attended church mass daily, and volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister to the |
17 | sick, and prayed the Rosary with her prayer group of thirty years; and |
18 | WHEREAS, With a kind and loving personality, Mrs. Morrone created and nurtured a |
19 | marriage that flourished and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her family and |

1 | was especially proud to be "Nana" to her fourteen grandchildren, Andrea, Julianna, Alisa, |
2 | Matthew, Emily, Benjamin, Caitlin, Marcus, Jack, Sydney, Aidan, Drew, Max, and Nico. She |
3 | enthusiastically attended her grandchildren's sporting events, and was always their biggest fan. |
4 | She and her husband had also shared a very special relationship with their "seventh child, |
5 | Serena"; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Morrone was an eternal optimist who had a wonderful sense of humor, |
7 | a warm smile, a kind and caring heart, and a humble character. She made a tremendous impact |
8 | on the lives of so many people and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
9 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
10 | hereby expresses its deepest sympathies on the passing of Paula Marie Morrone; and be it further |
11 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
12 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to A. Vero Morrone and Family. |
