It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-22 of the General Laws entitled "Curriculum [See Title 16 |
2 | Chapter 97 - The Rhode Island Board of Education Act]" is hereby amended by adding thereto the |
3 | following section: |
4 | 16-22-34. Littering prevention and recycling awareness program. |
5 | The department of elementary and secondary education shall, in collaboration with the |
6 | Rhode Island resource recovery corporation, prescribe a course of study in litter prevention, |
7 | reducing and reusing materials, and recycling awareness that shall be used to educate every public |
8 | elementary school student within the state on a yearly basis. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
