EXTENDING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF CHRISTOPHER YOUNG | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Christopher |
2 | Young, beloved husband of Kara Young, whom he had proposed to during a Providence mayoral |
3 | debate, and the loving father of Mary Young; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Mr. Young was a Narragansett resident and Providence native. He had |
5 | attended Classical High School, Northeastern University and the University of Rhode Island, |
6 | where he earned an Engineering degree; and |
7 | WHEREAS, A well-known figure in Rhode Island politics, Mr. Young had run for |
8 | numerous political offices including the United States House of Representatives, the General |
9 | Assembly, and Mayor of Providence; and |
10 | WHEREAS, A pro-life activist, Mr. Young had often testified on legislation before the |
11 | General Assembly, most recently in favor of the Fetal Heartbeat Bill at the Rhode Island State |
12 | House; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Mr. Young was a man of great faith, passion, and consistent commitment to |
14 | making Rhode Island and this world a better place, and he will be dearly missed by his family, |
15 | friends, and all who were part of his extraordinary life; now, therefore be it |
16 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
17 | hereby extends deepest condolences on the passing of Christopher Young; and be it further |

2 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Kara Young and Family. |
