THANKING ELIZABETH VORRO FOR HER THIRTY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED

PUBLIC SERVICE WITH THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD

     WHEREAS, Elizabeth A. "Beth" Vorro, of Bristol, Rhode Island, has been an attorney

with the National Labor Relations Board for thirty years, serving as the Rhode Island Resident

Agent; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Vorro has personified the Labor Board’s mission to safeguard

employees' rights to organize and bargain collectively, and to be free from unfair labor practices;

and

     WHERERAS, Ms. Vorro has also been directly involved in many of Rhode Island's most

significant labor disputes as both a skillful attorney and as a voice of reason and compromise; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to her professional obligations, Ms. Vorro has been a volunteer,

mentor, advocate, and leader in the battle for gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights; and

     WHEREAS, After thirty years as a fighter for justice, Ms. Vorro has decided to retire

from the Labor Board and continue her work on behalf of our community as a private citizen;

now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

thanks and congratulates Elizabeth Vorro for her many years of service to the labor community

and her Rhode Island neighbors, and extends its best wishes for a well-earned retirement; and be

it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Elizabeth Vorro.
