EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF WILLIAM L. CONDON | |

1 | WHEREAS, William L. “Larry” Condon was born in Pawtucket the son of William and |
2 | Margaret Condon, and was the beloved husband of forty-three years to the late Joanne Condon. |
3 | Mr. Condon was a graduate of Providence College and Rhode Island College, and served our |
4 | nation with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Navy; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Mr. Condon had a long and distinguished forty-five year career as a public- |
6 | school administrator, serving as the Principal of Edgewood Highland School, Waterman |
7 | Elementary and the Edward S. Rhodes School in Cranston; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Mr. Condon was the youngest elementary school principal ever appointed in |
9 | Rhode Island. He was a tireless advocate on behalf of public schools and was widely admired by |
10 | the teachers, school personnel and parents he interacted with on a daily basis. He was a loyal, |
11 | respectful, caring and compassionate man who took the time to memorize the name of every |
12 | student in his school every single school year; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Mr. Condon was a member of numerous civic and educational |
14 | organizations, and in his free time played in several golf leagues. He was also a communicant of |
15 | St. Mary Catholic Church in Cranston; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Mr. Condon leaves behind his children, Alicia Condon, Andrew Condon, |
17 | and John Deluca and his wife, Amy, his grandchildren, Marcus, Jack, and Emily, and two great- |
18 | grandchildren, Leon and Thea; now, therefore be it |
19 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
20 | expresses its deepest condolences to the Condon Family on the passing of William L. Condon; |

2 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
3 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Alicia Condon, Andrew Condon, and John |
4 | Deluca. |
