EXTENDING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF PATRICK MICHAEL MANNIX | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with sincere sadness that this House has learned of the passing of |
2 | Patrick Michael Mannix, a son of Patricia and the late Michael Mannix, and the brother of |
3 | Matthew Mannix, Lt. Colonel Michael George Mannix, and Christopher Mannix. He is also |
4 | survived by his sister-in-law, Major Dawn Mannix, his niece, Meghan Mannix, and many |
5 | extended family members and dear friends; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Mr. Mannix was raised in the Bonnet Shores |
7 | neighborhood in Narragansett. He was a graduate of Monsignor Clarke School, Narragansett |
8 | High School, and Colby College in Maine; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Mr. Mannix had worked in a variety of capacities including positions in |
10 | financial services and public relations, as a political consultant with many local campaigns, and |
11 | most notably "improving the lives of and job opportunities for disabled Americans." In 2012, he |
12 | was named to the list of Top 500 Influencers in American Politics by Campaigns & Elections |
13 | Magazine; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Well-respected and dedicated to public service, Mr. Mannix proudly served |
15 | as Chief of Staff in the Office of Disability Employment Policy at the United States Department |
16 | of Labor from 2017 through 2021; and |
17 | WHEREAS, In addition to his family and employment, Mr. Mannix was a longtime |
18 | parishioner at St. Thomas More and had also been a devoted member of the St. Philip Neri Parish |
19 | and School while living in Maryland. He loved the ocean, his Irish Heritage, and making |
20 | Christmas special for those he loved. His life, accomplishments, and "old school patriotism" |

1 | enriched the lives of all who knew him and set a standard for excellence in public service that is |
2 | an inspiration to us all; now, therefore be |
3 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
4 | expresses deepest condolences on the passing of Patrick Michael Mannix; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Patricia Mannix and Family. |
