1 | WHEREAS, School counselors are employed in public and private schools to help |
2 | students reach their full potential; and |
3 | WHEREAS, School counselors are actively committed to helping students explore their |
4 | abilities, strengths, interests, and talents as these traits relate to career awareness and |
5 | development; and |
6 | WHEREAS, School counselors help parents focus on ways to further the educational, |
7 | personal and social growth of their children; and |
8 | WHEREAS, School counselors work with teachers and other educators to help students |
9 | explore their potential and set realistic goals for themselves; and |
10 | WHEREAS, School counselors seek to identify and utilize community resources that can |
11 | enhance and complement comprehensive school counseling programs and help students become |
12 | productive members of society; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Comprehensive developmental school counseling programs are considered |
14 | an integral part of the educational process that enables all students to achieve success in school; |
15 | now, therefore be it |
16 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
17 | commemorates February 7–11, 2022, as "National School Counseling Week"; and be it further |
18 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
19 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Joseph Batiano, Rhode Island School |
