EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF PAULA M. CASEY | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deepest sympathy that this House has learned of the passing of |
2 | Paula M. Casey, beloved mother of Michael Casey and his wife, Leticia DiPipi, our good friend |
3 | and colleague the Honorable Stephen Casey and his wife, Debra Hunt, Mark Casey and his wife, |
4 | Laura, Kristin Reino and her husband, Christopher, Peter Casey and his wife, Andrea, and the late |
5 | Christopher Casey; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Mrs. Casey was the daughter of Dr. Joseph |
7 | and Anna Antanelis, and the caring sister of Carol Romkey and the late Joanne Sweeny. She was |
8 | also aunt to several nieces and nephews, and the former wife of Joseph Casey; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Beautiful inside and out, Mrs. Casey was crowned Queen of the Eastern |
10 | States Exposition "The Big E" in 1964. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary |
11 | Education and attained her Masters of Education from Boston State College; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Casey raised her large and loving family with strength, courage, and |
13 | devotion, and particularly doted on her grandchildren, Alyssa and Christopher Casey, Elena and |
14 | John Casey, Emma and James Casey, and Casey Reino, all of whom brought great joy to her life; |
15 | and |
16 | WHEREAS, In addition to raising her family, Mrs. Casey provided for her family |
17 | teaching Kindergarten in the Boston Public Schools and elementary school at St. Mary's School |
18 | in Melrose. She later served as a substitute teacher within the Melrose Public Schools for many |
19 | years, and was an active member of the Washington School PTA and an instructor in the St. |
20 | Mary's Religious Education program; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Mrs. Casey embraced life's joys and simple pleasures. She enjoyed |
2 | gardening, sitting in the sunshine listening to birds and soaking up the sunshine, and possessed a |
3 | wonderful talent for still life painting; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Paula Casey's strong Christian Faith was an immense source of strength |
5 | throughout her life. She was a caring, forgiving and fun-loving woman who instilled her children |
6 | with morality and independence and by example, demonstrated the nobility of sacrifice and |
7 | altruism. She was blessed with their total love and devotion and she will be dearly missed; now, |
8 | therefore be it |
9 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
10 | extends deepest condolences and sympathy on the passing of Paula M. Casey; and be it further |
11 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
12 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Michael Casey and Family, the Honorable |
13 | Stephen Casey and Family, Mark Casey and Family, Kristin Reino and Family, and Peter Casey |
14 | and Family. |
