CONGRATULATING THE LASALLE ACADEMY BOYS LACROSSE TEAM ON THE | |
INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT OF WINNING THEIR TENTH STRAIGHT RHODE ISLAND | |
DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP | |

1 | WHEREAS, The LaSalle Academy Boys Lacrosse Team were once again dominant in |
2 | the 2021-2022 Rhode Island Lacrosse season as they compiled a perfect 10-0 record in the Rhode |
3 | Island Interscholastic League and an outstanding overall record of 15-3. The Rams outscored |
4 | their opponents in league play 215 to 47, and outscored their opponents in all competition, 300 to |
5 | 105, and defeated Boston College High when they were the number one ranked team in |
6 | Massachusetts, and also defeated the third ranked team in the State of Connecticut; and |
7 | WHEREAS, In the State Championship Tournament, LaSalle lived up to their billing as |
8 | the favorites and the one seed from the start, when they dispatched Bishop Hendricken by the |
9 | score of 22-7. In the championship game, the Rams met Moses Brown, their closest rivals |
10 | throughout the regular season, and after a closely fought first half that ended in a 4-4 tie, LaSalle |
11 | took control in the second half thanks to Anthony DiCenso’s domination of the faceoff circle and |
12 | the four goals scored in a row by attackman Nolan Johnson to handily dispatch Moses Brown by |
13 | the score of 15-5 to secure La Salle’s tenth in a row Rhode Island Division One Championship; |
14 | and |
15 | WHEREAS, LaSalle had numerous players who earned local and national honors. |
16 | Thomas Caito III, Anthony DiCenso, Dylan Johnson and Noah Rose were named US Lacrosse |
17 | 2022 All-Americans and Noah Rosa and Connor Braham were named US Lacrosse Academic |
18 | All-Americans. Noah Rosa, Nolan Johnson, Anthony DiCenso, Dylan Johnson, Thomas Caito, |
19 | Hayden Almeida, Colby Frigon, Max Ayotte were Rhode Island 1st Team All-State and |

1 | Providence Journal All-State selections and Ryan Cowan was named Rhode Island Boys Lacrosse |
2 | 2nd Team All-State; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Winning a State Championship requires that every team member sacrifice |
4 | their individual wants and needs for the greater good. The LaSalle Boys Lacrosse Team once |
5 | again had these important attributes in abundance as they were led all season by the key |
6 | contributions of Ian McMahon, Anthony DiCenso, Joseph Ferguson, Thomas Caito, Matthew |
7 | Hayes, Noah Rosa, Adam Camille, Andrew Bradley, Ronan Peterson, Brighton Got, Grover |
8 | Moran, Dante D’amico, Samuel Yan, Adam Dady, Benjamin Riccitelli, Brady Fisher, Nolan |
9 | Johnson, Luca Fattore, Owen Giorgio, John Rodehorst, Garrett Clare, Colby Frigon, Hayden |
10 | Almeida, Timothy Ward, Connor Graham, Dylan Johnson, Cole Bouchard, Tyler Graham, |
11 | Dominic Muratore, Alexander Edmonson, Paul Boghosian, Ryan Cowan, Connor Moynihan, |
12 | Jacob Wilson, and Maxim Ayotte. The Rams Lacrosse Team also benefited all season, and |
13 | throughout their ten year championship run, from the outstanding leadership and coaching |
14 | provided by Head Coach Steven O’Donnell, who was ably assisted by Associate Head Coach |
15 | Cody O’Donnell, Assistant Coaches Timothy Ryan and Austin Marinosci, and Assistant and JV |
16 | Coaches John Ricci and Mark Kelly; and |
17 | WHEREAS, The incredible success of the LaSalle Boys Lacrosse Team would also be |
18 | impossible without the incredible support provided by the President of LaSalle Academy, |
19 | Brother Dennis Malloy, FSC, Principal Donald Kavanagh, Athletic Director Vincent McGinn, |
20 | and Athletic Director Emma Ofner; now, therefore be it |
21 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
22 | heartily congratulates the 2022 LaSalle Academy Boys Lacrosse Team on winning the 2022 |
23 | Division I State Championship, their tenth in a row; and be it further |
24 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
25 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Steven O’Donnell, Head Coach, LaSalle |
26 | Academy Boys Lacrosse. |
