EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF ROBERT A. WALSH | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Robert |
2 | A. Walsh, the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Walsh for sixty years; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Blessed with a large and loving family, Mr. Walsh was the father of Robert |
4 | Walsh Jr., Jack Walsh and his wife, Annabelle, Kathy Lynch and her husband, Stephen, Bill |
5 | Walsh and his wife, Lisa, Christine Phillips and her husband, Christopher, and the late Michael |
6 | Walsh, and daughter-in-law, the late Gail Colburn. He was also the very proud grandfather of |
7 | Erik, Katie, John Jr., Angel, Lily, Christie, Maggie, Michael, Meaghan, James, Brittany and |
8 | Brandon, and a great-grandchild, Oriana; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Born in the City of Providence, Mr. Walsh was a son of the late James and |
10 | Helen Walsh, and the brother of the late David Walsh; and |
11 | WHEREAS, A loyal and hard-working man, Mr. Walsh was employed at New England |
12 | Telephone for forty-five years, where he had worked his way from pumping gasoline to the |
13 | position of Director of Labor Relations in Boston; and |
14 | WHEREAS, In his spare time, Mr. Walsh was an avid golfer, a long-time member and |
15 | the past President at Highland Country Club in Attleboro, Massachusetts, where he formed |
16 | “many long-standing friendships and perfected his lightning quick backswing”; and |
17 | WHEREAS, Mr. Walsh was also devoted to numerous altruistic endeavors. He spent |
18 | many hours volunteering at Amos House, helping the Town of Cumberland on various projects, |
19 | and at St. John Vianney Parish in Cumberland; and |
20 | WHEREAS, Bob Walsh enjoyed bringing laughter to his friends and was “quick with a |

1 | smile, wink or sign of the cross.” He always let those he loved know that he cared and he will be |
2 | sadly missed; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
4 | extends deepest condolences on the passing of Robert A. Walsh; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Robert Walsh Jr. and Family, Jack Walsh and |
7 | Family, Kathy Lynch and Family, Bill Walsh and Family, and Christine Phillips and Family. |
