It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 5 of the General Laws entitled "BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS" |
2 | is hereby amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 93 |
4 | PROFESSIONAL LICENSE REINSTATEMENT ACT |
5 | 5-93-1. Short title. |
6 | This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Professional License Reinstatement |
7 | Act." |
8 | 5-93-2. License reinstatement COVID-19. |
9 | (a) Any individual required to be licensed by any state agency pursuant to title 5 or any |
10 | chapter of the general laws that issues licenses including, but not limited to, the department of |
11 | business regulation (DBR) and the department of health (DOH), and who, as a result of |
12 | noncompliance with any general or special law, mandate, rule, or regulation, which was enacted or |
13 | implemented due to the declaration of disaster emergency caused by COVID-19 shall have the |
14 | license reinstated immediately upon notice furnished to the appropriate licensing authority. |
15 | (b) "Notice", for purposes of this section, means any written or electronic communication |
16 | including phone or email that informs the licensing authority of the desire to have the professional |
17 | license reinstated. |
