RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS -- PROFESSIONAL LICENSE

REINSTATEMENT ACT

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Title 5 of the General Laws entitled "BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS"

is hereby amended by adding thereto the following chapter:

CHAPTER 93

PROFESSIONAL LICENSE REINSTATEMENT ACT

     5-93-1. Short title.

     This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Professional License Reinstatement

7

Act."

     5-93-2. License reinstatement COVID-19.

     (a) Any individual required to be licensed by any state agency pursuant to title 5 or any

10

chapter of the general laws that issues licenses including, but not limited to, the department of

11

business regulation (DBR) and the department of health (DOH), and who, as a result of

12

noncompliance with any general or special law, mandate, rule, or regulation, which was enacted or

13

implemented due to the declaration of disaster emergency caused by COVID-19 shall have the

14

license reinstated immediately upon notice furnished to the appropriate licensing authority.

15

     (b) "Notice", for purposes of this section, means any written or electronic communication

16

including phone or email that informs the licensing authority of the desire to have the professional

17

license reinstated.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

     This act would provide for the reinstatement of any license suspended because of

noncompliance with a COVID-19 mandate.
