RELATING TO FOOD AND DRUGS -- THE RHODE ISLAND CANNABIS ACT | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 21-28.11 of the General Laws entitled "The Rhode Island Cannabis |
2 | Act" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 21-28.11-33. Distribution of marijuana products. |
4 | (a) In accordance with the provisions of this chapter, a licensed compassion center may |
5 | allow a person to deliver marijuana to an individual located in the state. |
6 | (b) The delivery person shall be able to deliver marijuana from a compassion center to a |
7 | person in this state if the vehicle that is used for the delivery is registered to the compassion center, |
8 | the driver of the vehicle is an employee of the compassion center, and the recipient of the delivery |
9 | is registered with the compassion center from which the marijuana product is being delivered. The |
10 | amount of marijuana product to be delivered shall not exceed three hundred dollars ($300). |
11 | (c) The delivery of the marijuana product shall not be permitted by any rideshare or |
12 | delivery service including, but not limited to, Uber, Lyft, Grubhub, Doordash, Postmates, Uber |
13 | Eats or any other platform that participates in rideshare or delivery services. |
14 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |

2 | to a person located in the state that is registered with the compassion center. It would limit the |
3 | dollar amount of the marijuana product to three hundred dollars ($300) per delivery. Delivery |
4 | would be prohibited by any rideshare or delivery service. |
5 | This act would take effect upon passage. |
