It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 42-125-7 of the General Laws in Chapter 42-125 entitled "Rhode |
2 | Island Greenways Act of 1995" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 42-125-7. Greenways map. Greenways map and signage. |
4 | (a) The council shall oversee the preparation of a state greenways map for public |
5 | distribution, which map shall show the location of greenways and trails, scenic roads, watershed |
6 | boundaries, major rivers and water bodies, natural resource and recreation areas, and cultural |
7 | resources, including historic districts, and any other information the council may deem appropriate. |
8 | (b) The department of transportation, upon request from the council, the local city or town |
9 | council, or a local watershed council, shall install the appropriate approved road signage to indicate |
10 | the location of those features enumerated in subsection (a) of this section. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
