RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY -- REFUSE DISPOSAL | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 23-18.9 of the General Laws entitled "Refuse Disposal" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 23-18.9-19. Curbside pickup. |
4 | (a) Any city or town entering into a new contract with a waste management or trash pickup |
5 | service and/or renewing a contract with a waste management or trash pickup service shall not |
6 | require residents to pay for curbside mattress pickup or disposal. |
7 | (b) If the city or town manages their own waste management or trash pickup services, they |
8 | shall not charge residents a fee for curbside mattress pickup or disposal. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
