RELATING TO PUBLIC UTILITIES AND CARRIERS -- RHODE ISLAND PUBLIC | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 39-18 of the General Laws entitled "Rhode Island Public Transit |
2 | Authority" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 39-18-25. Bus benches and overhead canopies. |
4 | The authority shall conduct a study exploring the feasibility of installing benches and |
5 | overhead canopies at the authority's bus stops. The report shall be completed by June 30, 2024, |
6 | with its recommendations and the estimated costs and transmitted to the governor and the house |
7 | and senate finance committees. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
