It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 28 of the General Laws entitled "LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS" |
2 | is hereby amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 60 |
4 | POSTING OF VETERANS' BENEFITS AND SERVICES |
5 | 28-60-1. Posting of veterans' benefits and services. |
6 | (a) The department of labor and training shall consult with the office of veterans services |
7 | to create and distribute a veterans' benefits and services poster. |
8 | (b) Such poster shall, at a minimum, include information regarding the following services |
9 | available to veterans: |
10 | (1) Contact and website information for the office of veterans services and the department's |
11 | veterans' program; |
12 | (2) Substance abuse and mental health treatment; |
13 | (3) Educational, workforce, and training resources; |
14 | (4) Tax benefits; |
15 | (5) Rhode Island state veteran drivers' licenses and non-driver identification cards; |
16 | (6) Eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits under state and/or federal law; |
17 | (7) Legal services; and |
18 | (8) Contact information for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs veterans |

1 | crisis line. |
2 | (c) Every employer in the state with more than fifty (50) full-time equivalent employees |
3 | shall display the poster created pursuant to this section in a conspicuous place accessible to |
4 | employees in the workplace. |
5 | SECTION 3. This act shall take effect on January 1, 2024. |

3 | and distributed by the department of labor and training in consultation with the office of veterans |
