RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES -- MEDICAID COVERAGE | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 40-8.4 of the General Laws entitled "Health Care for Families" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 40-8.4-12.1. Post Covid-19 funding. |
4 | If anyone, subject to the public health emergency (PHE) continuous coverage requirement |
5 | for Medicaid, is deemed ineligible for Medicaid solely as a result of the end of the PHE, |
6 | HealthSource RI shall automatically enroll qualified individuals who are transitioning off Medicaid |
7 | at the end of the PHE into a qualified public health plan. The department shall fund and support the |
8 | first six (6) months of a person's premiums once enrolled into the person's respective public health |
9 | plan. |
10 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
