A N   A C T

RELATING TO AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE COVENTRY FIRE DISTRICT

     Introduced By: Representatives Noret, Nardone, and Chippendale

     It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 3 of Chapter 806, of the 1889 Public Laws entitled “An Act to

Incorporate the Coventry Fire District” and as subsequently amended, is hereby further amended

to read as follows:

     Sec. 3. The annual meeting of said district shall be held on the second Wednesday at a date

fixed by the board of directors during the month of November in each year, to be announced at a

public meeting of the board not later than the twentieth day of October in each year. Effective for

2017 through 2018, the district’s fiscal year shall be from December 1, 2017, to December 31,

2018. Beginning on January 1, 2019, and each year thereafter the The district’s fiscal year shall be

the calendar year, from January 1 until December 31.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

RELATING TO AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE COVENTRY FIRE DISTRICT

     This act would allow the board of directors of the Coventry fire district to hold its annual

meeting at any time during the month of November provided the date is announced by the twentieth

day of October in each year.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
