EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF PATRICIA A. PAOLANTONIO | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Patricia |
2 | "Patsy" Paolantonio. She was born in Bristol, Connecticut, the eldest daughter of the late Joseph |
3 | and Anne Browne, and had lived in Johnston for more than fifty years; and |
4 | WHEREAS, A graduate of Rhode Island College, Ms. Paolantonio was a widely beloved |
5 | and outstanding teaching professional for four decades, teaching a varied level of ages from Pre- |
6 | K through adult education classes; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Ms. Paolantonio's distinguished teaching career began when she accepted a |
8 | position as a social studies teacher at Calef Middle School in Johnston. She continued her career |
9 | at Johnston High School where she eventually retired after 35 years of public service as an |
10 | Administrator of the English, Social Studies and Foreign Language Departments; and |
11 | WHEREAS, After retirement, Ms. Paolantonio continued her work in education at Saint |
12 | Pius V School serving as a librarian, before becoming the school Principal. She concluded her |
13 | exemplary teaching career working with adult education students; and |
14 | WHEREAS, In her free time, Ms. Paolantonio loved to cook and mastered the artistry |
15 | and science of cooking for and entertaining loved ones at holiday time. She was also passionate |
16 | about reading and was committed to learning something new every day of her life. She also |
17 | enjoyed travelling, golfing, and spending time seaside with her family and many friends; and |
18 | WHEREAS, Ms. Paolantonio was the devoted mother and mother-in-law of David John |
19 | and Ashley Paolantonio, and grandmother to Jordan Marie and Jayde Olivia Paolantonio. She |
20 | also leaves behind her sister, Andrea Richardson, and was the beloved aunt of Anne Spinelli, |

2 | sister, Eleanor Chippendale; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby |
4 | expresses its condolences on the passing of Patricia A. Paolantonio; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to David John Paolantonio and Family. |
