CONGRATULATING REGINA "GINA" MOURA ON THE OCCASION OF HER

RETIREMENT AFTER MORE THAN 37 YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE

STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

     WHEREAS, Regina Moura, known to all as Gina Moura, was born in Providence, a

2

daughter of Avis Castro and the late Honorable George Castro, who was a former member of the

3

Rhode Island General Assembly; and

4

     WHEREAS, A graduate of Hope High School and the Community College of Rhode

5

Island, Gina began her exemplary career serving as a page for the Rhode Island General

6

Assembly in 1985. Over the next 37 plus years, she served in any needed capacity, working as a

7

proofer, in the internship department, and in various clerical positions; and

8

     WHEREAS, For the last thirteen years, Gina has been a valued member of the Rhode

9

Island House Constituent Services Office, serving as a Constituent Liaison where she has worked

10

tirelessly to answer questions and solve the problems of House members' constituents. She

11

always performed her work diligently and cared deeply about the general public and their

12

concerns; and

13

     WHEREAS, Gina Moura is beloved by all for her infectious laugh, and her caring and

14

charitable personality. She has always been very fashionable and might just have the largest shoe

15

and handbag collection known to exist; and

16

     WHEREAS, Gina Moura is a devoted wife and mother who has always put her family

17

first in her life. She is married to the Honorable Paul Moura, a former member of the Rhode

18

Island General Assembly, who served in both the House and the Senate. Gina is also the devoted

19

mother of twins, Paul Moura, Jr., and Nina Moura; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby

2

heartily congratulates Gina Moura on her retirement from the State of Rhode Island and the

3

Rhode Island General Assembly after thirty-seven years of devoted and distinguished service to

4

the people of Rhode Island. We furthermore, wish her good health, much happiness in her

5

adventures, and continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it further

6

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

7

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Regina “Gina” Moura.
