	RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- THE DEPARTMENT OF
	HOUSING

	It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1	SECTION 1. Section 42-64.34-2 of the General Laws in Chapter 42-64.34 entitled "The
2	Department of Housing" is hereby amended to read as follows:
3	42-64.34-2. Powers and duties.
4	The secretary of housing shall have all powers and duties:
5	(a) pursuant Pursuant to § 42-64.19-3(a)(4).; and
6	(b) To create a written guide for consumers relating to the rights and duties of landlords
7	and tenants pursuant to chapter 18 of title 34 which the secretary shall update at a minimum on an
8	annual basis.
9	SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

	BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

1	This act would empower the secretary of housing to create a written guide for consumers
2	relating to the rights and duties of landlords and tenants, updated on an annual basis, at a minimum.
3	This act would take effect upon passage.
