It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 30-15 of the General Laws entitled "Emergency Management" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 30-15-12.1. Local emergency management - Coastal Community Appropriation - |
4 | Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force. |
5 | (a) The general assembly shall include in the annual appropriation to the Rhode Island |
6 | emergency management agency, the amount of one hundred thirty thousand dollars ($130,000) to |
7 | be distributed to coastal communities participating in the Narragansett Bay marine task force |
8 | (NBMTF) for the maintenance of boats that provide services to Narragansett Bay. |
9 | (b) The funds shall be distributed to the coastal communities as follows: |
10 | (1) Providence, East Providence, Cranston, Newport, Warwick and North Kingstown shall |
11 | receive the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) annually per community; and |
12 | (2) East Greenwich, Narragansett, Barrington, Warren, Bristol, Portsmouth, Middletown, |
13 | Jamestown, Tiverton and Little Compton shall receive the sum of six thousand dollars ($6,000) |
14 | annually per community. |
15 | (c) This section shall sunset on July 1, 2031. |
16 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on July 1, 2023 and sunset on July 1, 2031. |

5 | This act would take effect on July 1, 2023 and sunset on July 1, 2031. |
