S E N A T E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ARTHUR F. TRAHAN,

SR.

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Arthur

2

F. Trahan, Sr., a lifelong resident of Scituate, and the beloved husband of Dorothy Trahan for 62

3

years; and

4

     WHEREAS, Mr. Trahan was a son of the late Olidor and Sara Trahan. He was a hard

5

worker who daily strove to provide for his family and loved ones. He was the owner of the former

6

A.C.D. Incorporated excavating company, and had also worked for the former Dexter Brothers

7

Oil Company. In addition, he was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for the Town of

8

Scituate until his retirement in 1997, and had also served our nation with distinction as a member

9

of the United States Army; and

10

     WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Trahan enjoyed the outdoors, working outside on

11

anything mechanical, being part of construction projects and being a league bowler at Town Hall

12

Lanes. He also enjoyed attending church, his grandchildren’s school, and sporting and musical

13

events through the years; and

14

     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Mr. Trahan leaves behind his children,

15

Arthur “Skip” Trahan, Jr., and his wife Maddalena, Charlene Randall and her husband, the

16

Honorable Kevin Breene, former Rhode Island Senator, and Cynthia Moscarelli and her husband,

17

David. Mr. Trahan was the grandfather of Torey and Derek Randall, Carolyn and Mitchell

18

Trahan, Leah Moscarelli, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Ronald Trahan, the

19

late Roberta Gagnon, Cecile Rogers and Roland Trahan, and is also survived by many nieces,

nephews; now, therefore be it

2

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest

3

condolences on the passing of Mr. Arthur F. Trahan, Sr., and be it further

4

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

5

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Dorothy Trahan and Family.
