CELEBRATING "RIGHT FROM THE START - STROLLING THUNDER" ON MAY 2, 2023

     WHEREAS, On May 2nd, a panoply of babies, youth, their families, and supporters will

join together to "stroller" to the State House on a mission to ensure that all babies and toddlers in

our State have a strong start in life; and

     WHEREAS, The Right from the Start - Strolling Thunder Campaign is a major advocacy

event to bring attention to what babies and families need to succeed and is focused on advancing

the State’s legislative and budget policies for young children and their families in Rhode Island;

and

     WHEREAS, Policies, funding, and programs that help families with young children,

regardless of zip code, race, ethnicity, or family income, are essential components in building a

strong State economy and public health; and

     WHEREAS, Advocating for state policies and funding, as well as awareness and support

for the needs of families who have babies and young children, will help ensure Rhode Island

families have the crucial services they need to thrive; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby celebrates "Right from

the Start - Strolling Thunder" on May 2, 2023; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Right from the Start, the Rhode Island

Association for the Education of Young Children (RIAEYC), and Rhode Island Kids Count.
