It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-87 of the General Laws entitled "Rhode Island Prekindergarten |
2 | Education Act" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 16-87-8. Enrollment at Progreso Latino/Progreso Excellence Academy. Effective |
4 | July 1, 2023, the early childhood education program known as the Progreso Latino/Progreso |
5 | Excellence Academy (the "program") located in the city of Central Falls, Rhode Island, may accept |
6 | students into the program who are not residents of Central Falls. The acceptance of students into |
7 | the program who are not residents of Central Falls shall not, in and of itself, cause a loss or reduction |
8 | in state or local education aid to the program. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
