EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ANTHONY F. GUGLIELMI, JR.

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of

2

Anthony F. Guglielmi, Jr.; and

3

     WHEREAS, Mr. Guglielmi was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of June Guglielmi

4

and the late Anthony F. Guglielmi, Sr. He graduated from the Groton School and attained a

5

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 1984, a Master’s degree

6

in Educational Psychology from Rhode Island College in 1987, and his C.A.G.S. in School

7

Psychology from Rhode Island College in 1989; and

8

     WHEREAS, In 1989, Mr. Guglielmi began his esteemed professional career serving as a

9

School Psychologist with the East Providence School Department, working tirelessly and

10

innovatively to improve the lives of every student he assisted. He deeply cared about every

11

student and would do everything possible to help them, be it dealing with family issues, learning

12

problems or even everyday life situations. He made a positive difference in the lives of countless

13

East Providence Public School students; and

14

     WHEREAS, Mr. Guglielmi was held in high esteem and was well-respected by his

15

professional peers. He was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, and

16

the National Education Association of Rhode Island; and

17

     WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Guglielmi enjoyed cooking for his family, travelling

18

the globe, and listening to music; and

19

     WHEREAS, In addition to his mother, Mr. Guglielmi leaves behind his three children,

20

Jennifer Belhumeur, Anthony Guglielmi and Sam Guglielmi. He is also survived by his siblings,

Susan Grufstedt, Judith Frechette, Lisa Sargent, Leonard Guglielmi, and John Guglielmi; now,

2

therefore be it

3

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses deepest

4

condolences on the passing of Anthony F. Guglielmi, Jr., and be it further

5

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

6

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to June Guglielmi and Family.
