REMARKS

Thank you Mr. Speaker.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the House I rise this afternoon to share some good news for a change. Steve Anderson is absent today for a very good reason. He is commencing another series of chemo treatment. I could do no better than to share his description of his most recent evaluation -POSITIVE. That one word says it all - POSITIVE. I like its sound don't you. His doctor had told him that he had a 50/60 chance of success at the outset of the chemo series. Steve's recent evaluation was encouraging although he has a way to go, so far Steve seems to be finding his way out of the woods. I like to think of it as the up side of the 50/50 chance. It is my pleasure to have his permission to share his encouraging news with you today. Anyone who would like to congratulate Steve can do so Saturday night, March 17, 2001 at Nino's on Lake Tiogue which is located on Route 3. The Coventry Democratic Town Committee will be honoring Ed Inman, Steve Anderson, and James Spearman all of whom have been in public office since the '80s. Their event starts at 6:30 P.M.

TRANSMITTED TO THE GOVERNOR

(01-S 3) An Act relating to levy and assessment of local taxes.

(01-S 400) An Act relating to towns and cities.
