I hereby move to amend (01-H 5906) (Substitute "A") entitled "AN ACT RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY NEEDLESTICK SAFETY AND INJURY PREVENTION ACT" as follows:

(1) On page 2, line 8, by deleting the words "Sharps injury prevention evaluation committee" and insert in its place the word "Purpose".

(2) On page 2, lines 9 and 10, by deleting after the word "controls," the following language: "maintenance of a sharps injury prevention evaluation committee,".

(3) On page 2, line 26, by deleting after the word "systems" the following language: "and other medical devices".

(4) On page 2, line 29, by deleting the words "shall implement" and inserting in its place the following language: "document consideration and implementation of'.

(5) On page 3, line 7, by deleting the language after the numeral "(2)" through line 11 inclusive, and inserting in its place the following language: solicit input from non-managerial employees responsible for direct patient care who are potentially exposed to injuries from contaminated sharps in the identification, evaluation, and selection of effective work practice controls and shall document the solicitation in the exposure control plan."
