The Senate meets pursuant to adjournment and is called to order by His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, Charles J. Fogarty, at 4:00 o'clock P.M.

The roll is called and a quorum is declared present with 45 Senators present and 5 Senators absent as follows:

Upon suggestion of Senate Majority Leader Irons, and by unanimous consent, His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, welcomes to the Chamber Joseph J. McBurney, son of Senator McBurney, who is back in Rhode Island after completing his first semester at Catholic University, with an outstanding grade point average of 3.85, among his many other accomplishments.

Upon suggestion of Senator Tassoni, and by unanimous consent, His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, welcomes to the Chamber his daughter, Jennifer Tassoni.

Russillo of Johnston, former Johnston Town Administrator, former Johnston Town Clerk and Probate Court Clerk, and the former Reading Clerk of the Rhode Island State Senate. His long standing contributions to public service will forever be remembered.
