The House of Representatives meets at the State House in Providence, Wendesday, February 3, 1999, and is called to order at 3:19 o'clock P.M., by the Honorable John B. Harwood, Speaker.

The roll is called and a quorum is declared present with 96 members present and 4 members absent as follows:

CORRECTION


By unanimous consent, the House Journal of Wednesday, January 27, 1999, is hereby corrected on page 7, column 1, line 1, by deleting "Callahan" and inserting"".

ANNOUNCEMENTS


Representative Kennedy announces that the Committee on Corporations will meet today at the rise of the House in Room 203 of the State House.

Representative Coderre announces that Representative Peter Kilmartin was promoted to Lieutenant of the Pawtucket Police Department.

Also:

Representative Lopes announces that the Black Minority Caucus elected their officers as follows, Representative Fox as Chairman, Representative Abdullah-Odiase as Vice-Chairperson, and Representative Almeida as Treasurer.

Also:

Representative Carter announces that the Committee on Labor will meet today at the rise of the House.

ADJOURNMENT


At 3:27 o'clock P.M. on motion of the Honorable Speaker Harwood and Representative Martineau, and as a further mark of respect to the memory of Mildred "Millie" Sweet; on motion of Representatives Gorham and Mumford, and as a further mark of respect to the memory of William Nash Davis, seconded by Representatives Henseler and Watson, the House adjourns, on a unanimous rising vote.
