The Senate meets pursuant to adjournment and is called to order by His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, Charles J. Fogarty, at 4:09 o'clock P.M.
The roll is called and a quorum is declared present with 47 Senators present and 3 Senators absent as follows:
His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, by unanimous consent, presents Senator Cote, to deliver the invocation.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, by unanimous consent, presents Senator Cote, to lead the Senate in the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Upon suggestion of Senator Enos and by unanimous consent, further reading of the Journal is dispensed with and the Journal approved as recorded.
GUESTS
Upon suggestion of Senators Graziano and Tocco, and by unanimous consent, His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, welcomes to the Chamber the Honorable Joseph Wells, Councilman from the town of Johnston.
Upon suggestion of Senator Oster, and by unanimous consent, His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, welcomes to the Chamber Joshua Warren, who will be serving as an intern this year.

Senator Coderre also expresses appreciation to Gil and Pat Bricault, along with the employees of J.W. Riker Real Estate, for their sponsorship this month in helping to establish the Kathleen A. Hoyas Memorial Scholarship at St. Raphael Academy. Kathy, the sister of the Clerk of the Senate, passed away last fall, but had been employed with the Riker family for the last 12 years.
