The Senate meets pursuant to adjournment and is called to order by His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, Charles J. Fogarty, at 4:05 o'clock P.M.
The roll is called and a quorum is declared present with 44 Senators present and 6 Senators absent as follows:
His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, by unanimous consent, presents Senator Goodwin, to deliver the invocation.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, by unanimous consent, presents Senator Goodwin, to lead the Senate in the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

(99-S 159 as amended) Senate Resolution directing the Department of Environmental Management to conduct immediate inspections of all dams located on the Woonasquatucket River.

(99-S 195) Senate Resolution extending the reporting date of the special Senate commission to prepare a comprehensive plan to reopen vacant mills throughout Rhode Island.

NEW BUSINESS
Senator Walaska presents (99-S 814) Senate Resolution congratulating Gregory Bonetti on being named the State's Top Junior High School Student Volunteer in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
