The Senate meets pursuant to adjournment and is called to order by His Honor, the Lieutenant Governor, Charles J. Fogarty, at 4:03 o'clock P.M.

The roll is called and a quorum is declared present with 47 Senators present and 3 Senators absent as follows;

NEW BUSINESS

Senator DaPonte presents (99-S 830) Senate Resolution congratulating General Treasurer Paul J. Tavares on being named 1998 Citizen of the Year.

Senator Damiani requests unanimous consent for immediate consideration.

Unanimous consent for immediate consideration is granted.

Upon motion of Senator Damiani, seconded by the entire Senate, and by unanimous consent, read and passed, under suspension of the rules, upon a voice vote.

Senator Irons presents (99-S 831) An Act to vacate the forfeiture or revocation of the charter of R.W.O., Inc.

Read ordered to be placed on the Consent Calendar.

Senators Damiani, Irons, DaPonte and Bates present (99-S 832) An Act authorizing the city of East Providence to finance the planning, construction and reconstruction of streets and/or sidewalks within the city and to issue not more than $3,000,000 bonds and notes therefor.

Read and referred to the Committee on Corporations.

CONSENT CALENDAR




In order for the day is taken up as follows;

Upon motion of Senator Enos, seconded by Senator Bates, the following measure on today's Consent Calendar, by unanimous consent, is read and passed upon a voice vote;

1. (99-S 828) An Act reinstating and restoring forfeited or revoked corporate charters.

ANNOUNCEMENTS


Senator Enos announces that the Senate will start meeting on Friday's starting on March 12, 1999.

Also;

Senator Izzo announces that the Committee on Health, Education and Welfare will meet today at the rise of the Senate in Room 211 of the State House.

Also;

Senator Goodwin announces that the Commit-tee on Special Legislation will meet today at the rise of the Senate in the Senate Lounge of the State House.

ADJOURNMENT




Upon motion of Senator Enos, seconded by Senator Algiere, and upon suggestion of Senators Roney and Celona, the Senate adjourns at 4:08 o'clock P.M., on a unanimous rising vote, as a further mark of respect to the memory of Dr. Joseph L. DiLibero, Sr. of North Providence.
