It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, Congressman Michael Thompson of District 1, the 1^st Congressional District of California, may join Kristen Marie Cotta and Brian David Pendleton in marriage at a place within the town of Jamestown on May 20, 2000. Congressman Michael Thompson of District 1, the 1^st Congressional District of California, is hereby authorized and empowered to join the foregoing persons in marriage pursuant to and in accordance with chapter 15-3 of the general laws, entitled "Solemnization of Marriages."

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
