It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, Peter R. Larkin, Justice of the Peace and Probate Judge for the Town of New Fairfield, State of Connecticut, may join Kera L. Lampman and Jeffrey S. Kirchner, both residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in marriage within the City of Newport on September 9, 2000. Peter R. Larkin is hereby authorized and empowered to join the foregoing persons in marriage pursuant to and in accordance with chapter 15-3 of the general laws, entitled "Solemnization of Marriages."

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
