RELATING TO PUBLIC BUILDINGS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 37-8 of the General Laws entitled "Public Buildings" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

37-8-1.6. Pawtucket Armory. -- The state of Rhode Island has determined that it no longer needs the property and buildings thereon which once served the people as the Pawtucket Armory. The city of Pawtucket has determined that it can use the property and buildings thereon for municipal purposes. Therefore, notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the director of the department of administration is hereby authorized and empowered to convey the state's entire interest in the Pawtucket Armory to the city of Pawtucket. The consideration for said sale shall be one dollar ($1.00). The city of Pawtucket shall be responsible for all costs associated with the conveyance.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
