SECTION 1. Section 3-7-7.3 of the General Laws in Chapter 3-7 entitled "Retail Licenses" is hereby amended to read as follows:

3-7-7.3. Class B licenses -- Restriction on entertainment. -- Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter or in the Rhode Island general laws to the contrary, in the case of any city or town which issues any retailer's Class B license this city or town may restrict or prohibit entertainment at these licensed facilities, in accordance with objective standards adopted by the municipality and approved by the state department of business regulations provided that any restriction(s) or prohibition applies standard shall be applied uniformly to all of these licensed facilities.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on January 1, 2003.
