RELATING
TO MONUMENTS AND MEMORIALS

It
is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION
1. Section 30-28-9 of the General Laws in Chapter 30-28 entitled
"Monuments
and
Memorials" is hereby amended to read as follows:
30-28-9.
Despoiling rolls of honor. Despoiling any veterans' monument or
memorial.
-- Any person or
persons who shall mutilate, deface, or otherwise despoil the rolls of
honor
described
in section 30-28-8
any veterans' monument and/or memorial shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor
and shall be fined fifty dollars ($50.00) no less than five hundred
dollars ($500)
for each and every offense plus the cost of full restoration.
SECTION
2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
