H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N

STRONGLY URGING THE RHODE ISLAND PUBLIC TRANSIT AUTHORITY TO

IMMEDIATELY REINSTATE RIPTA ROUTE #31

     WHEREAS, Providing public transportation is one of the most important functions of

government; and

     WHEREAS, Public transportation not only relieves congestion on our roads, it also

reduces environmental hazards caused by automobiles; and

     WHEREAS, Most importantly, public transportation provides transportation to those who

lack the resources to own their own private transportation; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority to

immediately reinstate RIPTA Route #31; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the director of RIPTA.
